Question '08 LR2 130k pause and jolt from 2nd to 3rd

My LR2 2008 SE with 130k drives fine for 10-15 miles. Then it has issues when shifting from 2nd-3rd (its an automatic). When accelerating, there is a pause, a knock noise and then a violent lurch/jump. The lurch only happens between 2nd > 3rd. The local mechanic hooked it up to the computer and says the diagnostic machine doesn't note any issues. Should I pay someone to tear apart the gear box / Transmission? Thanks in advance.

I think those tranmissions have valvebody issues, but I have no documentation to back that up.

I have the same issue with my 2008 LR2 SE 98k miles/157k km. Going from 2nd to 3rd seems to hang on neutral for a moment and depending on speed and acceleration, it will rev up, jolt or knock. It only seems to happen when it's really hot outside (above 38°C/100°F, according to the outside temperature reading). During those same circumstances, it does the same thing when shifting from Drive to Reverse.

maybe it's low on transmission fluid or it's time to replace the fluid?
