2008 LR2 won't rev over 4000 rpm
Hi guys.
I have a 2008/09 LR2 3.2 with 79.000 km (I´m from Brazil, so...metric system here!), but it's around 50.000 miles on the clock and I bough the car from the first owner. So it is in very good shape and was well maintened.
I noticed sometime ago that the engine won't rev over 4000 RPMs. Around 3.500 RPMs, the engine seems to lose some power and at exactly 4000 rpm, it cuts off and the next gear is engaged. The car works perfectly fine on low RPMs, so it's not a huge problem, but it bothers me A LOT when I drive on the highway.
The engine management light doesn't flash at any time or the car runs rough or has problems to start. Cold or hot, the car works fine.
Soon after the car came to me, I bought new spark plugs, changed the engine oil and did some basic maintenance, but the issue appeared before this.
Does anybody had similar issue?
A friend has a Volvo V60 T6, and as the coils and position camshaft sensors are the same, we tried to this parts in each other cars and, just my LR2 keep 'limited' to 4.000 RPM.
If anybody has a tip, I'd appreciate! Thank you.

I'm waiting for a specialist have a spot in this shop to read the parameters with the official Land Rover scanner. There's only one dealership in a reasonable distance from my home here where I live, and they simply deny some kind of services for cars with certain 'age'. We brazilians are used to that, unfortunately...
I'll try to measure the fuel system pressure while I'm waiting for this guy.
Some more info...If I press the gas pedal while in P or N, the same happens. It cuts @4.000 RPMs. And it happens pushing the pedal to the maximum or not, so I'm guessing it's something electronic.
Just the " i" when in Sport or manual mode.
I'll use the car later and make some videos/pictures.
You need to hook it up to a proper LR code reader and check for codes, Sounds like some type of governor thing happening.
(Learned it in thirty days in Säo Paulo, nine hours a day, burned out four individual instructors, while at the same time admiring the ability of Brazilian girls to wear spray-on jeans...)
The fuel pressure sensors have a failure mode that often involves limited power at highway speed, but 4000 rpm is pretty specific. Maybe swap that with your buddy's volvo too, takes about five minutes (it's on the end of the fuel rail).

Our girls are the best!!
I just filmed what it happens with the car. Here's the link on youtube:
I´ll try to replace the fuel pressure sensor. My friend that has the Volvo is out of town, but he'll be back on sunday. While I can't hav an a appointment with the LR 'specialist', I'll try your sugestions.
Thank you guys!
