2009 Lr2 off road
I’m trying to go about making my 2009 LR2 into a more capable off-road vehicle... actually I know it does great off road but I would like it to look like it belongs there (which in my eyes it should be) I’ve already started with a bigger radial tire which gave me about an 1.5 lift without any extra cost. They are amazing for my road conditions (Alaska). I’m looking into a roof rack and a decent set of bull bars that won’t need to much fabrication. Also looking into some after market suspension kits for a better lift and clearance. I have no clue how to go about this and I’m having trouble finding reputable manufacturers with parts that actually guarantee fit without anything needed to be fabricated to fix. If anyone has ideas I would love to see them or even talk about them. Pictures are always welcomed.
I should have taken the opportunity to beef mine up following a broken spring but I too found sourcing options very difficult.
Im quite happy with the LR2 in all conditions and a few light track types... the kind of places you might find a tractor. I did move up 2 sizes on my summer Pirelli AT scorpions and noticed the 1.5 lift too. I like it. But I haven’t done that with the winters. I did move down to 17” rims for the winters but I prefer a little more space in the wheel well (for cleaning out buildup).

You likely have to source the UK or Europe for more options in lift kits.......I did a very quick (cavet
) Google but the Freelander 2 (N.A. LR2) does not seem to have a lot of online options available anymore. You may have to put together some thing custom. By the way, what size tires gave you the 1.5 lift?
EDIT: I Googled my year, so it's very possible there maybe more options for your year class....
