201- LR2 Brake rotors/pads
My local dealer said I need to replace the rear rotors/brake pads, at $600+. Just wondering what anyone else has paid for the same, and if it was done by a non-dealer. Thanks.

$150 or so for both rear rotors at Autozone, another $50 or so for the pads. You should check the parking brake pads while you're at that. You can do the work yourself if you know how (or can read the service manual). If not, take it to any brake shop. Not rocket science.
I've used napa premium rotors (aka raybestos) with textar semi-metallic pads. FLAPS has the pad clips which don't come with the pads, best to replace those too. I've run through two sets of each, with good results. Minimal dust with the semi-metallic pads, I avoid ceramic pads due to occasional towing down long mountain roads, so you could go with ceramic if you're not doing any severe braking duty.
I replace the rotors with the pads, they do wear pretty fast and I don't want to run out of rotor halfway through a set of pads. You might barely get two pad changes out of a rotor set but you'd have to watch it carefully. Front and rear wear differently, have to keep an eye on both of them.
Like flybd5 said, pretty easy as brake jobs go, no special tools or anything. Just pay attention to how the pads and clips come out so you know how they go back in.
The caliper bolts are "patch bolts" with pre-installed loctite, which are supposed to replaced, but you can just clean with a wire brush and apply loctite (I use blue).

When you replaced your pads, did you notice if the inner pad wore a lot more than the outer pad? I know this is common for single piston brake calipers, but mine are more uneven than I expected. Next time I have the wheel off, I'll have to check if the pins are properly lubed.
No, I didn't see that. I do clean and lube the pins and sliding surfaces.
