Default 2010 alarm goes off periodically even when unlocked

I know this is a known issue but it was gone for a bit and now it's back...the alarm randomly goes off. Interestingly, it goes off around the same time now. Today it went off when it was unlocked. That was a first. We did the bonnet fix and tied that off. Anyone else have any fixes?

Thanks!

Did you replace the hood switch? Or just short it out... maybe check the connection again.

Yes, just shorted it out.

Well check the connection again, maybe use a crimp connector if you just twisted the wires or used a paper clip. The replacement switch is also cheap and easy to DIY.

Next up would probably be a door switch, probably need an LR specific software to view which one. Not sure if a cheap scantool like Autel would have that detail, maybe somebody else knows.

First thing I'd do would be vigorously exercise each door switch by hand multiple times, and check to see if they look intact and installed correctly.

The timing probably has to do with daily temperature cycles.

Don't forget to also lubricate the door and hood latch assemblies generously with silicone or graphite sprays. DO NOT USE WD-40 ORIGINAL FORMULA. Not a lubricant.

Went off while it was unlocked? That is VERY odd. One guess is that your keyfob may be sending errant signals due to a low battery or some defect, making the car think it's locked when it isn't.

If you have a second keyfob (you should), try using that one to see if any change in behavior. As discussed above, there may be a secondary problem with one of the alarm switches.

The only way that can happen is if the panic button is pressed. Could be the fob is just dirty inside and needs some contact cleaner, or a new shell.
