Default 2010 LR2 brakes

I've a 2010 LR2 and during routine maintenance the dealer advised that front rotors and brakes needs to be replaced. It has 43k miles on it. It would have been fine if he only advised to change brake pads but rotors so soon? He said that Land Rover advises to change rotors and brakes at the same time. I asked if machining the rotors work and he said no. Any experiences on 2010 LR2 brakes needing replacement around 43k miles?

Also, on another note do you service your LR2 at dealership only or outside? So far I've been going to the dealer, was wondering if outside LR mechanics makes sense?

Dealers always try to get you to replace the rotors also when not needed. I would suggest a good set of Akebono ceramic pads and a full brake flush and you should be fine.

Default LR2 brake job

I have a 2008 LR2. When the original pads needed to be replaced, they also replaced the rotors at the same time. The dealer explained that the rotors still had life on them, but not enough to last through the new set of pads they were installing. So they advised to replace pads and rotors at the same time.

I got my rotors machined. I installed land rover brake pads on it. So far 18 months and no problems!

I'm noticing a squeal from one of my wheels while braking at low speeds to a stop. It's a 2010 with 37K miles. Would this be indicative of a worn pad?
