I can’t seem to locate the correct brake light bulb when looking at local auto parts stores. 7528 bulb is what their website says but it doesn’t fit.

Anyone else ever have the same issue?

 

Which bulb are you talking about, the one at the top of the hatch or one of the left/right bulbs? AFAIK all the bulbs are available at your local Autozone or other auto parts store.

 

I believe 7528 is the reverse (back-up) lamp.

I recently replaced the left/right stop (brake) lamps on my 08 LR2 and used Philips P21/5W 12499. I bought a pack of two on eBay, but they probably carry them in local stores, too. Suggest you replace both sides at the same time.

One of the largest light bulb reference sites on the internet has incorrect bulb information for the LR2. If you don't have your owner's manual to reference, then it's good practice to verify part #'s across different, independent sources.

 

Those are the ones in the cluster of lights in the rear, but above the tailgate there is another stop lamp, that's a W16W.

 

Yep, that's a #921 bulb. Since you mentioned it, and brake lights are important, I should probably replace that one now as well. Another to-do.
