I've been using techron for decades, either via chevron gas or a bottle from flaps. Have never had an issue with injectors on six cars or two motorcycles. Although any tier one gasoline is probably good enough.

Liqui-moly also seems to be good stuff, I've started using Ceratec on my higher-performance vehicles (including the LR2). There is plenty of discussion on the interwebs about liquimoly, but the folks who have the most to lose (Porsche, etc owners) have concluded it's legit.

In general I would assume that 99% of additives available are snake oil, unless proven otherwise. It took a lot of reading to sell me on liquimoly.

thx Merlin - all ur research will serve me well - I'll likely try it in my Euroboxes - high compression units - in an attempt to prevent/reduce internal scale - hopefully keep the cars running smooth longer and even avoid injector replacement.

Before changing injectors, get yourself an inexpensive ultrasonic jewelry cleaner (preferably one with a heater) and some decent solvent. Remove the injectors and leave them overnight in the cleaner with enough solvent to cover them. More often than not this will dislodge whatever ails them and save you the cost of new injectors... and you can use it to clean other things too.

I changed them at 167000 km. Along with a new Haldex pump, rear main seal and timing cover gasket. I think I have an exhaust manifold to change in the near future, but I hope that will be it for a while. Who knows…….
