Default ABS Three Amigos

Hello All,
So last few times the roads have been wet/slushy I have had the ABS light come on with their 2 other brothers. only when the roads are wet. HDC becomes unavailable. Then when I shut my Rover down and restart only the ABS light comes on then after just a few feet of movement it will shut off and everything works fine. Sounds as if one of the sensors is getting wet or a cracked wire? Never a issue on dry roads at all. Transmission shift points are at a higher RPM when all 3 lights are on I noticed as well. Everything returns to normal after a restart.

What codes are you getting from the car's computer?

Hello, Sorry for the delay. I scanned tonight with my Bosch scanner and got a p0500 vehicle speed sensor A code. My speedo is working fine it seems. But now at times the transmission seems to not want to shift. When I shut down and restart 95% of the time it acts fine after that. Sometimes I can feel a slight jerking of sorts. Sound like a connection issue? After the restart Ill have the ABS light remain on till above 7mph or so then it goes off until it happens again. I am having troubles with my SDD pc currently. Not sure where to go without getting the JLR codes.

There are several speed sensors in the truck. Each wheel has one as part of the ABS system, as well as a vehicle speed sensor. You need to scan it with JLR-SDD or some other sensor that can talk to the relevant modules. Take it to Autozone or another autoshop, they may be able to help, or borrow something like an Autel.

I scanned with SDD tonight and came up with the P0500 Sensor A. Seems that is the VSS sensor on the output shaft. BUT... My speedo seems to work fine, for some reason I couldn't scan the ABS and a couple other module (of course). I am going to make another attempt in a little while.

Speedo may use wheel sensors, or some combination. Or it may switch to a wheel sensor if VSS fails.

Hello All!!! Last night I got my SDD laptop back up and running. Pinned it down to C0034-07, C0034-01, U0415-94. So if I am correct... Had intermittent ABS issue then full time failure of right front wheel speed sensor. Makes sense with the abs glitching in the wet and otherwise fine. Then constant failure?

Yeah that's the wheel speed sensor. In my experience most ABS/Traction problems are caused by WSS, since they're delicate and constantly exposed to water, salt, grime, and road debris.

The generic scanner got something wrong in the translation from JLR to generic DTC.

It actually did a decent job of translating the code.
