Default Adding Factory GPS to 2008 LR 2/Discovery 2

I have a 2008 LR2 which I am preparing to sell. I can obtain a factory GPS unit off Ebay, which would make the car fully loaded. Not many 2008 had these as I understand there was production issue which delayed the option at the start of the model year, not sure if that is true. I have recently added the Factory Headset Video system. All the options I have added, had provisions for them in the wiring harness, so plug & play. Does anyone know if all connections and cables are in the dash to accept the GPS unit? These are sold by themselves with no cables. The vehicle has the Alpine Audio system.

Default LandRoverBob Adding Factory GPS to LR2

LandRoverBob did you find that all the wiring was there for the factory GPS off of eBay? I am interested in the same thing. Seems easy if the wiring is already there.

The connections are likely there but it is going to be a bit more than the screen portion. There is the exterior gps antenna etc that will be needed to function.

I installed a non factory but similar system in my 2009 LR2 HSE earlier this year. The connections were not there, nor was there a bracket for the GPS / DVD drive under the passenger seat. Fortunately, the system I purchased (also from eBay) had all of the necessary cables and connectors.

Disappointing to hear that. I figured most of it would have been there.....

What system did you end up installing and did it come with everything to make the install? Was it an easy install? How long to make it happen?

Your vehicle may be different. This was just my experience.

SoCalLR2,
I have the 2008 LR2 HSE and LR says the GPS was the same for the 2009... May I ask what system you found to install? Looking to do the same here.
Thanks,
