Default Alarm randomly sounds off in LR2

Recently, the alarm on my 2008 LR2 randomly sounds off. It happens every couple of weeks. I took it to a local Land Rover tech and the key and transponder codes came up. I replaced the key about 4 years ago. I have been told it could be either of those things or the hood sensor or the battery. Has anyone faced this problem? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Happened to me after a couple months when it was brand new. The dealer replaced the hood sensor under warranty. Never had a problem since.

I don't really see it being a Key issue unless the Panic button is shorted. I don't know about the LR2 since it is a Volvo by-product, but most if not all Land Rovers store a log of alarm activations. Any Land Rover tech with the proper diagnostics should be able to access the alarm history and see why the alarm was sounded (i.e. Bonnet Switch)

We don't see many LR2s here, it isn't a popular vehicle in our town, however we do a ton of LR3/RRS hood switches and the LR2 uses the same part.
