Default Auxilliary transmission cooler

2008 LR2, I want to tow a 2000 pound trailer 1200 miles and wonder if I should install an auxilliary transmission cooler. Does anyone have experience in this area?
Thx

I wouldn't worry about a load that small. I would, however, change your tranny fluid if it is old> When was yours last serviced?

The LR2 was serviced @48000, however I don't believe the transmission oil was changed. It now has 51,000 and a right rear wheel bearing went out. Car was beyond warranty but dealer gave me a break on the part cost. I will get the transmission oil changed as a precaution. Thanks for your input.
