Hello fellow Land rover drivers Ive just purchased my first ever land rover the other day. It is a 2013 LR2 with 78,500 miles with black paint and i love it. ive been reading alot of information online trying to get a good grasp on my vehicle and i just wanted to see if yall had any tips or info you could share with me about maintaining my land rover. I really like my car and i want to drive it until the wheels off. any wisdom would be much appreciated!

 

Congrats! You are already on the right track, preventative maintenance. Long enough service histories out there to have the information available. I have also found the freel2.com site to be very informative, the European FL2 = LR2. Just pay attention to the different engine options, the rest of the vehicles are virtually the same.
78K miles is not a lot, I'd start with fluids soon and get a LR2 related scanner.

An FYI, this is one of the most under rated vehicles out there.
Mine is very dependable.
but as @ThorInc suggests, maintenance is key. I’d change ALL fluids and filters too.
Also, frequent oil changes are key. The PTU and Haldex need to be maintained.
And by virtue of where I am, we installed a block heater and I let it warm up anytime the temp dips to freezing.

 

I have a 2013 LR2 with 44K on the clock. Are there any 'LR2 related' scanners you would reccommend?
