I just noticed that the rubber in mine is cracked. I suspect this has been causing the moaning noise when driving under load that I've been trying to figure out for months. Glad that it's a simple replacement. Another project for next weekend.
True. I had mine checked, they're OK. Mech says the torque mount is much more prone to failure than the other mounts, but if you don't fix a broken torque mount the others will go too, faster than normal.
I'll post back and let you know if it fixes my noise. I actually found this mount issue as related to the noise by searching the Volvo forums for the same engine type.

Hilarious video. At 2:15 something goes flying across the video, likely a washer from the bolt. He glossed over that and you can see the video skips a few seconds. Not putting any anti-seize compound on the bolt threads shows he's definitely an amateur. Someone will pay for that the next time the torque mount needs to be changed.
The service manual does not even seem to mention this item. That is par for the course for Land Rover manuals. The part number is LR000597. You may want to check in a Volvo forum.
Yeah, there are so many more Volvos on the road than Land Rovers with this engine that Volvo can be a better resource. I did not find the Volvo service manual, but I did find this video where they indicate the torque value is 110Nm = 81 ft-lbs (see timeline at 6:00). I also found confirmation of this on a Volvo online forum (see screenshot) indicating that the torque for both bolts is the same value.
The engine can be lifted up a couple inches without removing the lower engine mount
This is enough to remove the bracket and the upper mount

Hey Paul, in your writeup on the other forum you said that you supported the engine by jacking it up a little bit with a puck. I've read in other forums that many folks jack under the oil pan with a block of wood (this blows my mind, but apparently it works for them). If you remember, where did you find a reliable jacking point on the engine to support it with a puck? I'm familiar with jacking up the frame to lift the car, not on the engine itself.
