Default help changing 2008 lr2 alternator

Can I get a couple step by step instructions to get to the alternator? I have the dreaded coolant leak. That is a different issue to be resolved.

But can someone please direct me to a post with how to get to the alternator. I have the alternator, and want to get moving, but I don't want to tear into this just by ripping everything out that I "think" needs removed.

I assume I have to remove the air intake, but that is where I need some guidance. What all do I have to remove, loosen, etc to get the intake out of the way.

Much appreciated if anyone can assist.

Ok, basic questions to removing the intake... do you have to remove the fuel rail to get the intake up past it? In trying to get the intake off, I can not get it forward enough because of the radiator and fan... and I can not bring it straight up because of the fuel rail. Just looking for general guidance to get this damn thing off. Anyone with any details please.

Removal of Intake Plenum.. so far this is what I have

  1. Remove the Air Cleaner (ACL) outlet pipe.

  1. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
    1. Remove the fuel supply manifold.

    1. Detach the engine wiring harness and position to one side.

    1. Disconnect the vacuum supply hoses from the intake manifold by squeezing the tabs, twisting the hoses and pulling away from the intake manifold.

    1. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum line from the intake manifold.
      1. Remove the fuel charging wiring harness.
      2. Remove the accessory drive belt.
      3. Remove the generator bolts. Position the generator to one side.

      1. Remove the intake manifold.
        1. Remove the intake manifold gasket. Discard the gasket.
        Installation

        1. Install a new intake manifold gasket.

        1. To install, reverse removal procedure.

I had the dreaded coolant leak as well. I bought a new quick connector and hose from the land rover stealer and replaced it. That fixed the leak, but now my alternator light is intermittently coming on- so I may need to replace the alternator soon. I've replaced alternators before on American cars, but the LR2 looks a bit tricky. Could you possibly email me your instructions with the pictures you have? For some reason I cant view the pictures.. Thanks in advance.

Pictures don’t show up, this also does not address the issues I am having with clearing the coolant pipe that is sticking out of the head.... hoping a thread reply notification will get show traction here
