I have a Land Rover 2008 LR2 it’s overheating now but no coolant leaks only when I remove the coolant cap? Do you know what the problem might be?

The service manual indicates the following possibilities when the engine overheats:
  • Engine coolant (level/condition)
  • Thermostat
  • Fan motor
  • Fan motor fuses and/or circuits
  • ECT sensor
  • Engine control module (ECM)
  • Fan speed module
If there is sufficient coolant in the system and the radiator fan runs when the engine gets hot, it's likely the thermostat, but it could be other things.

.

when it overheated no coolant was leaking. When I removed the cap from coolant resivour it started leaking coolant behind the engine couldn’t see where. Could it be coolant pump?

It could be any of many things. If you don't have at least some detailed pics, we can't help you. Are you capable of doing mechanic work on your engine?
