If you want high speed cornering, get yourself a Mazda Miata, but be prepared for the consequences when you want to go offroad or need to navigate a snowy day, for example. What you want is not generally available, and if you try to get close, you will also be separated from 6-digit sums of money. No SUV is truly designed for that, though a few have tried. https://www.motortrend.com/news/best...nd-crossovers/

And I'm done with this pointless discussion. Cya.
Not a pointless discussion. Some points were very well made.

I recall when Consumer Reports published the results of their test because I was a new LR2 owner. It was a healthy warning about the limits of its design.

Like the nail in the road, you don't always have control of your driving circumstances. You can end up making a high speed corner on an unfamiliar road, or a familiar road just trying to keep up with traffic. Or someone may borrow your vehicle and not realize it has limitations that other SUV's do not. Not to mention how it will affect resale value. Bad idea across the board. My two cents.

Well, pop a few pounds out of the rear tires, the same pressure on the shared axle however, &/or get a set of Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 rubbers and stick to the dry pavement like glue. Now, watch out for mud and snow or ruts.............!! Rain should be OK...............

a common approach to lifting the lr2 to add a solid aluminum spacer to the top of each strut housing. But the most I’ve seen 2.5 cms.(1 inch)
Coupled with oversize tires, the effect is more like 3”. And no, I have never rolled any vehicle while turning. Of course I don’t take corners in the LR2 at the same speed as the xkr. Nor is my entry speed anywhere in the same ballpark.

I will be driving her until the wheels fall off. Resale is a non-issue for me.... besides, who cares about a resale value on a nearly 10 year old vehicle.
