I would go for an HSE because the SE is a "lower-end" model and you'll get hammered on resale.

 

I'll take an LR2 with no dead pedal over my POS Freelander with no armrests anyday. The designers obviously never drove the thing for any extended period of time.

 

I just bought a 2008 LR2 SE in late October 2008. I bought a demo model for 30% off sticker. The dealer has a handful of demo models still available for thesame price.

My understanding is that the SE is no longer available when purchasing a new LR2. Only HSE is available.
