Default LR2 No crank

Hello All,
I drove the LR2 this morning and everything was fine. This afternoon I tried to start it and everything seems to boot. NAV, music all start up fine. But when I hit the start I hear relay clicking under the dash and then I hear a relay anwser over on passengerside. They seem to talk back four time and then stop. I notice the alarm light is flashing after I insert the eky that I dont remember happening. Any ideas?

Get the battery tested, while disconnected from the vehicle. Any FLAPS can do that for you. How old is the battery? These cars are very sensitive to any battery weakness. If it's 5 years old or older I'd probably just replace it with a good one.

Also try a computer reset:
Disconnect both battery cables.
Wait ten minutes
Touch battery cable ends together
Wait ten
Connect battery
Wait ten
Insert key fob (don't turn on)
Wait ten
Turn car systems on, but not the motor (with foot off brake, press and hold start button for a few seconds)
Wait ten
Start engine, drive around a bit

Other than that, since you hear relays or solenoid, best guess would be the starter, those will fail eventually after 100K miles. It's a fairly easy DIY, IIRC, and not too expensive if you get an aftermarket or rebuild. Check for codes before you do that, just in case.

So after charging the battery all night to make sure fully charged. There is no trouble codes present on OBD scanner. I do get a "Engine System Fault" message in the info center screen. I did the battery disconnect reset. There is no signal at the starter relay in the driverside fuse box. The series of relay clicks when I first put the FOB into the dash is still there. I dont remember hearing the relays talking back and fourth like they are now. Theres a relay click in the center of the dash then right after 2 clicks anwser from the passenger side. This happens 3 or 4 times then they stop clicking. What causes the "Engine system Fault?"

Background Info: What year is your LR2? How many miles?

Check for OBD2 codes. If you don't have a scanner, many auto parts stores will perform a free scan.

It is a 2008 LR2 SE 111k miles. Yes I did scan it. No codes. It wont crank so it is sitting in front of house now. I just went out to try moving the gear selector. It seems to be fine. Beeps when I select reverse. What I did notice is that when I press start button the green lights aloneside the FOB dont come back on till I release the brake. Is that normal?

Sorry, I missed in your previous message that you scanned for codes.

Checking power at the starter relay was a good idea and easy to do. You said there is no signal at the starter relay in the drivers side fusebox. You mean the fusebox in the engine compartment, right?

I assume you have two key fobs. Did you try your second fob?

Yes I tried both FOBS. I not only checked for power at the relay but switched the relays out that are side by side. Dont remember what the other relay was but they exact. Yes the fuse box close to the air filter housing.

Did you check the starter fuse (F15)? If it's blown or not, and if power is getting to it.
