I learned today that I have been misreading the oil level on my 2008 LR2. The markings on the dipstick indicate Min and Max levels, so the normal full level is at the midpoint, or halfway between these markings. The way I had been reading it incorrectly was to interpret the Max marking as "Full", so I was adding oil to top it off when I shouldn't have. Another lesson shared.
