Default LR2 Radiator fan

Now that I upgraded my radiator fan to the hot climate two-fan model, I have a perfectly working OEM used single-fan unit for sale. $100 + shipping and it's yours. P/N is LR026078. Note that in this case this is NOT compatible with the Volvo radiator fan.

Where did you find the two-fan unit?

Was it plug and play or did it have to be programmed?

On eBay from a parts site in the UK. Turns out that apparently the dual fan unit is standard on the diesel model, as opposed to an option on the gas model. It was cheap too, under £80 with inexpensive shipping. It is plug and play. If you look at your fan the control box has two outputs already. The one that is not used is for the second fan. No programming needed.

Nice upgrade! Which components did you have to remove to replace the fan unit?

I did it at the same time as the alternator. There's your sign.

You have to remove the intake manifold, release the a/c and power steering pipes, remove the a/c line support bracket and the compressor and lower and upper support brackets, release the accessory drive belt tension, release the a/c compressor and set aside, and then and ONLY then can you undo the fan connectors, release the harness and remove the fan assembly. Then you have between two and twelve very stiff drinks, rest overnight and reverse with the new fan assembly. This is not for the faint of heart, as you probably already imagined.

You can also do it from the front by removing the radiator that way. I have zero interest in finding out which one is easier. I'm just glad nothing blew up after I finished.

Oh yeah, and I broke the MAP sensor. Yes, someone warned me about it, so I had already bought another one.

Did you break the sensor itself, or the wired connector to the sensor?
