My shifter boot looked bad after many years of spilling coffee and neglecting to condition it with leather cream. I purchased an aftermarket replacement boot on Amazon. It's made of synthetic leather and may be easier to clean.
I watched multiple Youtube videos to figure this out. When you get the boot off the shifter plate, it's best to bring it indoors onto your work table to carefully remove and replace the fabric without breaking any of the plastic tabs.
All done. It's not the original look of genuine leather, but a big improvement over the old tattered boot. See photos.
The parking brake handle also has a boot which is still in good shape. I'm going to start using leather conditioner on that one to avoid another replacement project.

This will be my next task. Thank you. Any tricks to getting that shifter handle off? I watched the youtube videos but mine won't budge.
I didn't realize how much better looking my interior cabin would become when I replaced my old tattered shifter boot. Funny how little things can sometimes make a big visual difference.
This vinyl boot also cleans easier than the original leather. It has withstood the hazards of being close to the drivers seat, including coffee, soda, ketchup, and donut sprinkles.
It was more difficult to replace than you would think, but was worth it.
