Should be able to adjust them. With vehicle in reverse, adjust them to the position you want. They will return to that position each time you put the vehicle in reverse. Here's the exerpt from my 2010 manual. I would think that the 2008 is same:

I know this thread is old, but I'm looking for a way to turn off reverse mirror dip as my driver's mirror won't go back to the normal position after it dips. It says in the manual that the dealer can turn it off, but if its easy enough to do it myself I'd like to save the expense! I just purchased a 2008 LR2 and am trying to learn the ins and outs of it!
Thanks!
Thanks!
