Need some help here
Just bought a 2014 LR2 and am a bit lost with a few things. Hoping someone can guide me in the right direction. First, I'm getting 3 warning lights that I'm not sure they are correct. Low coolant - but the coolant is full (double checked with engine running). Charging system is faulting - I'm seeing spike in charge when I rev the engine and battery is brand new. and low tires - I know this one is correct because 3/4 of the tires do not have sensors. At least not landrover ones.
Second, the nav system is gone from the infotainment system completely. I cant seem to reset the computer and was hoping someone could tell me the process.
Thanks for now

- There is a float sensor inside the coolant reservoir. Make sure it has not been disconnected. If it is not disconnected, then you likely need to replace the reservoir. Inexpensive fix.
- For the charging system, you need to take it to a shop to check if the alternator or battery are working correctly or needs replacement. That the battery is "brand new" means nothing other than "good for you that you have a warranty." If the alternator is bad, that is an expensive fix, as it takes a lot of work to disassemble things to get to the alternator, and it is only slightly easier than replacing the alternator on 2008-2012 models. Those older models have alternators that are not belt-driven, they are gear-driven, and it can take a good eight hours to disassemble and reassemble everything. Get the charging system and the battery checked out first, then figure out what needs to be done.
- For the tire pressure sensor, your best bet is to take the car to a tire shop and have them replace all the TPM sensors with the correct ones. They do not have to be programmed so don't let them charge you for that -- just driving the vehicle for 15-20 minutes minutes will take care of that all by itself, but only if they install the correct tire sensors for the car.
- If the infotainment system does not show the nav option, don't waste your time looking for it. The last time Land Rover sold navi update dvd's or usb sticks was over six years ago. You will be better off using your smartphone, or if you are really hell-bent on having navigation on your console, you can buy a third party replacement for the entire infotainment display that includes GPS and is usually Android-based. That will cost $$$ to install and is best left to a specialized car audio shop.

Thanks Flybd5
That info both confirms some of my suspicions and was quite helpful. Since the float has started working but I will change the reservoir none the less.
It also looks like the voltage regulator is acting up.
I appreciate your help.

Didn't you get a prebuy inspection done before buying this LR2?
I haven't had that with my LR2. But it sounds like a hydraulic valve lifter that's taking a few seconds to pump up.
Probably not a big deal. But good chance they just have some internal build up, probably from not using synthetic oil. Try a quality synthetic oil, that will dissolve some buildups over time (months, thousands of miles).
Also if it's very cold out and you're using an oil weight that's too heavy that can happen.
