the CTEK Multi US 25000 cost between $340 to over $500 in some places on the net. Is this device suppose to stay connected to the battery 24/7 or just while loading and using the software? Does it have to be 25A?

You only need it while using the software. Yes, it has to be the specified amp rating... too low and you'll brick your CPU.

A standard battery charger is not nearly sufficient.
