Swapped out the alternator today and (no check engine light) but I now have P0661 code that I cleared but it came back again. I might have damaged a connector, a ground or a wire so now I have to track it down. A PITA and electrical is a weak point for me! The LR 2 is going to keep me busy !

That's a powertrain control module error and it might be related to the low voltage condition. Don't do anything for a week then reset it. It might just need to stabilize and reset.

Make sure that these are connected and then wait a week as recommended.

^^^Did as @p_gill suggested above, discoed and reseated the two connectors pictured above and cleared code. 2 days later, code has not returned.
