You're welcome.

BTW, if you do have to change the catalytic converters, you can buy those from Canada at a pretty good price. If that's what you need let us know, I'll give you the contact info for the company that sells them.

my absolute apologies lizzya.., but this is a common theme on another forum i belong. And I can’t believe a dealer would risk a reputation and a certification over a few dollars. If this is in fact the case the dealer should be reported to LR corporate headquarters and Country Customer Relations. They would be severely dealt with.

Must be nice to live in that perfect world where you never make honest mistakes. Give it a rest already.

I asked him why didn't i see the leak he explained that it was leaking through the exhaust.
So, he called around for a used engine it will cost me about $2966 with a one year warranty and labor is almost the same. Brand new one is about $10k
$5700 is almost what the car is worth, I have to ask myself is it worth it?
I just installed new front and back rotors and brake pad of about $900 and other works done in the last month or so I have spent almost $3k on the car

Thanks for the referral really good and honest workshop

This is a "Hail Mary" suggestion for a cheap fix. K-Seal has a good reputation for fixing leaks if they are not too far gone. If it doesn't work, it won't harm anything and you're not out a lot of money.

If they can't fix the engine, you may find a better price for a used engine at car-parts.com. The site has databases from shops that take apart cars and sell the good parts. Enter the year, model, "Engine" for what you're looking for, state of Maryland and your zip code. I search and found them for up to under a $1,000. Different years, but as long as it is an LR2 2008-2010 they will work with your car. You can't get out of the labor, it's a lot of work to remove and replace and engine.

Whether or not it is worth it is up to you. If you do this in the end the car is yours free and clear and has a warranty for a year. With the replaced engine, if it is in really good shape otherwise you can probably get up to about $7,000 for it in a private sale.
