White lithium grease repels water and is a prevalent option for not-so-demanding parts, including door hinges and sunroof sliding panels. Additionally, it helps to prevent corrosion and rust. Go easy on the quantity because it collects dust and dirt, which can defeat its purpose. Consider using a dry lubricant if you don’t want it to attract dust.
Also you really need to cycle moving parts like sunroofs at least monthly. In the summer I run my heat full blast on a monthly basis to cycle the valves for that which stay idle during AC season.
FWIW, I use lithium grease on my folding prop. After a sailing season, she still works smoothly…
But I purchase a small tub of it and ignore the thinly spreading aerosol application.
