Why are you doing all this work and spending all this money? Somehow I think you're going to wind up with a vehicle with a blue book value much lower than the money you are putting into it.

I understand what you are saying. I have shopped around for other vehicles, but this one has been so reliable, and only has 125,000 miles on it (for a 15 year old vehicle), and i feel like it will last much longer. Considering how little work I have had to put into it over the last 15 years, I plan on keeping it long term. It is cheaper to update it, and keep it going, than to buy a new car. Plus, if I do buy a new car, this will be a perfect backup. Of all the cars I have owned, this has been the most reliable and serves me very well living in Montana. For how little I can get out of it if I were to sell it, I figure not having a car payment since 2014, this kind of money to dump into it is still cheaper than having had a car payment over that period. Might seem crazy, but it affords me to look into a new two door defender at some point, if I keep this for hauling my elderly mom around.

Ok, I get it. Makes sense.

@lazerbrains , too true. My LR2 is dependable, cheap and nearly maintenance free. Sure, the modern technology gizmos are now +10 years old. But who cares... the vehicle is meant to carry the passengers from A -> B, in all the weather. With nice sounding tunes. And it does a great job at it.

Actually I find the interior useful. What I don't want is a monster LCD display in the centre console as provided by most, today. I find it quite intuitive to reach for a **** or switch, without looking, to adjust what needs to be adjusted. As opposed to taking my eyes off the road and fiddling with the options in a complicated display. And if I have gloves on, having to take them off first. I swear we are going backwards.

My suspension is still tight. Though I did have to fix a broken spring a few years ago. And a lower suspension bushing.
I see many talking about coilovers but I have yet to see any evidence that they last near as long as the original solution. And the few cars I've driven with the substitution not feeling as planted as my vehicles. Nope, I'm not going there yet.

Cheers.

I’ve ordered suspension parts from PartmasterHub before, and they have a great selection of high-quality kits. They were really helpful even assisting with the installation after I purchased the parts from them.
