Default TRAILER HITCH for 2013 LR2 - Anyone got a picture of one installed? Any brand?

I need to install a trailer hitch on my 2013 LR2 but nobody - not even the Land Rover dealership - has an example of what it looks like installed on the 2013 LR2. I am not very sold on the Land Rover one, since even LR staff recommends against it (and it involves cutting into the bumper apparently too.) Does anyone here have a trailer hitch installed from a third-party vendor who is happy with it and can post a picture of what it looks like installed on your LR2? I have read about a CURT model, but haven't researched it too much. Thanks!

Default Topic and Info

Check out this thread: https://landroverforums.com/forum/lr...it-help-31688/

Lot of good info and photos on each page. Photos of my trailer and setup are on page 4, but several photos throughout the discussion. Do it yourself and save some (i.e. lots) of money.

Beware, the LR techs are going to tell you about all the "evils" of doing it yourself. I've been running this setup for 2 1/2 years and have logged over 6000 miles pulling this trailer. A trip between Florida and Maine (1400 miles each way) and back after we left Maine. One round trip between Maine and West Virginia (1700 miles) while living in Maine. Then a lot of small trips around the towns I have lived in hauling antiques, motorcycle, etc. Only issue was drop in MPG (13-15mpg versus 24-26mpg highway). Trailer and LR2 handled great even with my wife driving from Maine to Florida because I was in a uhaul.

Did you find a hitch for 13 that doesn't require cutting the bumper?

Hidden Hitch still shows that model 87575 fits the 2013 LR2 as well as models 2008-2012. Contact their customer service and ask if they have fitted a 2013 model and did they encounter any problems.

Thanks. I emailed HH (Model#87575) and Curt (Model#13052) to find out if any will fit w/out cutting.

So I spoke with Curt and HH.

Curt confirms their hitch fits w/out cutting. It is also listed on Amazon as fitting.

HH said that they cannot confirm it fits on a 13 and Amazon does not list it as approved. They had one complaint but cannot tell what the issue is. Since HH is a little further back I assume they need to drop the hitch down a few inches to accommodate the 13 redesign.

I plan to order the Curt and install it. I'll post an update when it's done.
