Default Transmission Fault Traction Reduced

I get a chime and this message: Transmission Fault Traction Reduced

No warning lights.

It appears after starting and driving for a minute or two, and then the message seems to go away after a few minutes. Does it after most starts, but not always if the engine is warmed up.

Dealer can't look at it until next week, any idea what I'm in for?

Thanks

how many kms the car is, it's 2008 model so it's produced in factory by 2007 (means its 10 years old now)

Maybe you need to change the transmission oil

My car showed the same message without any warning light. The message would disappear after a while but re-appeared after pressing the i button (on the indicator stalk) several times.

At the same time the Terrain Response indicators stayed off all the time and it the display showed a "Terrain response system faulty" message when I turned the Terrain Response selector.

The problem in my case was the Haldex pump. The dealer replaced the pump (under warranty) and the message didn't come back.

Reason for that message as per manual is

"TCM has stopped transmitting CAN bus messages. Message also displayed if fault detected in active on demand coupling"

Active on demand coupling is your haldex sit to your rear diff

We had the rear diff replaced in 2016. In our case the light was due to low oil level... when they replaced the rear diff, and o-ring got nicked and the oil slowly leaked out. The pump was fine, just low on oil to pump. Took *almost* a year for enough oil to leak out to trigger the fault, so we didn't notice a leak. Barely still under warranty.
