Good morning,

I recently bought a Land Rover LR2 in Qatar and have found that the brake light is not working. I had it inspected and can see it has blown and corroded/melted some of the casing (see image).

I’m currently in the UK (Wigan) and figured it would be much easier to locate the part, LR2 brake light, but a google search isn’t bringing back a result that gives a novice confidence in it being the right part.

Can anyone here please direct me to a website or place to pick up this part?

In the UK, the LR2 is locally known as the "Freelander 2". You might have better luck searching on that name.

What is the purpose of those lights on the hood?

 

Desert flood lights.

 

Have a look at desert rally car lights.....night driving without any "street" lighting can be dangerous and challenging. It's like driving rural at night but worse.

 

Somehow I don't think he's planning to run any desert rallies in his LR2.
