Default Windshield Wiper Relay

It looks like I need to replace the windshield wiper motor relay on my LR2. I can't select high speed and the car says the relay is bad. Anyone know exactly what relay I need to buy? This is one of those things where there are a gazillion suggestions from shady vendors but no one will tell me for sure it's the correct one. The service manual is no help with the part number, neither is the Russian LR Catalog web site.

The fuse/relay box (engine compartment) diagram shows two relays for the wipers. One for basic on/off power, and a second for variable speed. Sounds like the speed relay is your focus. It's position R8 in the box. Probably has a Ford part # on it, not an LRxxxxxx number.

Can you check for the part #? If not, I can check mine in the morning.

Both of the relays in slots R8 (speed) and R11 (power) are marked as Ford 6G9T-14B192-BA.

I bought one of these inexpensive Relay Testers about a year ago. I tested it with known good and bad relays I have on hand and it works like a charm. Of course, you can rig up some wiring to test a relay, but this device is so much more convenient, and cheap as dirt to buy (less than 10 bucks on Aliexpress or Temu).

Haven't used it yet to diagnose any faults, but will be handy to have when the need arises.

First switch the Pink fuse with the red box with the pink fuse with the blue box

Then switch the black relay with the red box with the black relay with the blue box (do this for both black relays)

Then reconnect the negative lead for the battery.

If you switch the fuse and relay with the red box for the fuse and relay with the blue box then you can determine if you have a relay or fuse problem.

If nothing changes then it is unlikely that its a fuse or relay problem

If it was me this is the first thing that I would do.

Umm.... fuses are easily tested with a multimeter. I ordered the correct replacement relay, comes tomorrow, not from China.

I replaced my original relay in 2015 (preventative maintenance)

Here is what I bought

But I can't find anyone selling that exact part

So here is what I would get instead

WVE 1R2392 Info
w/ 4 Blade Terminals; 20 Amp (Only 1 Remaining)

It appears that WELLS became WELLS VEHICLE ELECTRONIS

So now its WVE 1R2392

Here is the Land Rover part number OEM / Interchange Numbers: LR003748,

Land Rover is not helpful

Rock auto search for WVE 1R2392 then click on INFO

The page that it brings up shows the OEM interchange
