Default 06 LR# suspension

I have an LR3, it has been sitting for over a week and the suspension has dropped to the stops. Started it yesterday, compressor kicks on, runs but it will not raise. Saw something on the screen about being in extended mode. Any ideas or tips to get it to raise?

Drive it...maybe around the block. It might raise itself up.
Any fault codes? Fault indications/messages?

Extended mode is a finicky thing, a faulty system can cause it to trip. I dealt with this a couple week ago with another LR3. It had compressor issues as well as some leaks in the galley. I dont know why it would jump into extended, but it did several times when trying to air up. Like its was cause between two conflicting issues. Kinda need EAS fault codes to really pin-point the issue though. I assume at this point you have had the compressor run a few times? Do you get dash indicators related to suspicion? Extended mode usually happens when the exhaust valve is faulty. The vehicle tries to lower by exhausting air, when its is not able to exhaust the vehicle doesn't lower and the computer bevies there is an obstacle stopping it from lowering and goes into extended mode.

Thats one scenario for sure, but in the case of the LR3 I worked on it was not. It would exhaust quickly and properly when at height, just would not raise properly.

Thanks for all the tips. The vehicle is on the stops, I will try driving it some and see if it will raise. The compressor does shut off with that blast of air that I always heard so hopefully not the exhaust valve. Fingers crossed or someone will be getting a great buy on it.

Odd, a blast of air is normal for venting when the system is working correctly. Its sorta a tell sign that things are at height and working, in a way. Usually it will not vent if there is a fault as the entire system is disabled.

I am confused by the whole thing. I will try again tomorrow. I guess the system does not know what height it is at.
