Had a variation in my idle so my mechanic said to change my pcv valve. Did so and now it smokes n stinks terribly. Bought china pcv. Bought a second one and problem persists. Definatly pulling oil from crank case. I have ordered a new pcv from land rover and am waiting on part. Is there something i am overlooking or am doing wrong. Please help me. I am disabled and only get one check a month and cannot throw money at a hole in the floor... Thank you...

Make sure the air tube to the PCV is not cracked and its o-rings are in place for a proper seal. Also make sure the oil cap is installed and that the oil tube is installed fully. These vehicles are VERY sensitive to vacuum leaks. Also for testing you CAN operate for short durations with no PVC at all. Remove and plug both ends if you want to test.
