I have an intermittent problem: about 50% of the time, when I start my LR3, all the suspension related indicators (height indicator) flash and the suspension acquires a normal height by default. After about 15 seconds, all the indicators turn on solid and the radio turns off (completely, as if loosing power, no LCD). When this happens, the parking brake cannot be released by the parking brake switch, but will release by putting it in gear and driving away. While in this mode, when I turn the car off, the suspension lowers to Access Height automatically. If I restart the car and this condition persists, it automatically reverts to normal height. If it works properly, I then can flip the height switch to bring it to normal height. Many times, I can turn the engine off and restart and everything will come up fine. When the suspension is working properly, the radio works fine and the parking brake works fine. My suspicions are either a bad ground (provided there is some commonality) or perhaps a network communications problem. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you need to download some wiring diagrams and start hunting.

I don't envy you, those type of electrical problems are my worst nightmare.

 

Tell me about it. I've worked on less complicated main frame computers. I have the schematic, but being broken up into 300 useless parts doesn't help. Also, the schematic doesn't tell me where to find anything. This is looking to me like a flaky CAN buss, perhaps the medium speed buss. Anyone with more experience with this who can help will be greatly appreciate.
