I have a 2005 LR3 SE7 V8. It seems like when I don't completly stop like at a stop sign and I don't come to a full and complete stop when I push the gas pedal it hesitates and then kicks really hard when it engages. I am not even push the gas very hard. Does anyone know what this may be?
Any help would be great.

Took mine in for the same thing last week. They did the software upgrade. It helped a little bit. It still does that when you do not completly stop at the stop sign and do a rolling start. I am starting to think that this is normal and they do not know how to fix it.

Almost all of the dealer Techs are missing one thing that is not done with the new software tune, even though it says reset adaptions at the end of the tune load.adaptions will not reset,no matter what it says on the screen. After the download is complete they must exit the program , all the way out to the intro screen,(GREEN LAND ROVER LOGO)Re enter Transmission diagnostics and reset Adaptions. This is the only way to fix the issue.
IT MUST PREFORMED IN THIS ORDER dont ask why I know this (experence) and probbly no one test drives the car to conferm if they fixed anything. Trust me it works.and the transmissions in LR3'sare almost indestructable.

I know I had the software update done as part of the recall for the Key/ignition issue, and it made a huge difference. The transmission is smart, and it learns from use. Get the software update, then give it some time to learn about how you drive. It will seem like it shifts slower, but just kick it to sport mode. I flip back and forth from sport to normal all the time. Transmission is a work horse. I've got 55k miles now and no problems at this point, other than I need to replace the front suspension bushings, that are causing an annoying rattle when off road.
