Default 1st post- Please help

Hello,

I am new to the forum and I hate to start off on a bad note but I need some help and I'll be honest, I haven't done a whole lot of searching yet. I promise I'll be better in the future.

I recently purchase a 2006 Land Rover LR3 6 cylinder. Love the truck but recently, when I start the truck, it will fire up and then die. However, if I start the truck and give it a little gas, she will idle and run without any issues.

Has anyone experience this problem before or know how to approach it?
We have some bad weather heading our way and I just want to make sure I do not get stuck somewhere.

Thank you in advance.

Hi, to be honest I do not know much about lr3's but I have read that the injectors stop up
pretty easy and need cleaning at the fuel rail.It may be worth searching.

Step one is to pop the intake tube off of the throttle body, and check to see if there is any significant carbon build up around the throttle plate(do this with the key off). If so, clean it with appropriate cleaner, and have a qualified shop preform an induction service at your next oil change.

Try cleaning the throttle body. The idle on my sisters LR3 used to vary by a few hundred RPM's until I cleaned the throttle body.
Here is a video:

I cleaned it in place (didn't remove it)

Hey thank you for the input. I'll start with the throttle body this weekend and if that doesn't cure it, probably start looking the the injectors.

I figured it was something fuel related. Thank you once again.
