We are considering purchasing the '05 LR3 which we have leased for the past 3 years. It is just shy of 38K miles and is in very good shape after 3+ winters in Chicago. It could use new tires, the spare was stolen a couple of months back and the brakes will need to be replaced within the next 12 months. We had the typical electrical and suspension problems but those were repaired under warranty. The bank dropped the price just below $20K and the warranty runs out in May. The local LR dealer is offering an extended warrantyfor $4032 (75K miles, 3 years, $100 ded. - seems high to me). We like the vehicle a lot and it fits our needs - 2 kids and lots of storage requirements. We have always leased (love the free scheduled maintenance and new car every few years) and hate the idea of owning a vehicle out of warranty.
