2005 LR3 rough idle after engine over heat
Hi Guys
Yesterday when I was off-roading after putting a bit more pressure to the engine air bleeding T valve on top of the engine broke on the small water hose and started steaming. I have added water and connected the hose directly back to the t-housing as a quick repair and drove the car for about 10 miles to the dealer. Every time when I see the engine temperature rising I have turned the engine off and let the car roll gear in N to keep the engine cooler. (Stupid idea)
Service guys replace the top house and told me that the thermostat was also gone. So they have replaced the t with housing as well.
However this morning when I went to collect the car there was misfire from 2 cylinder and rough idle.
Since the further diagnostics and repairs would cost me lots I have taken it to a private garage.
When I drove the car I could see there was a bit of loss off power and it was only rough running when idling.
Private garage guys checked the coils and looked like were firing ok.
So I left the car again for further investigation.
I wanted to ask you what else might have gone wrong based on your experience?
Any advise would be highly appreciated

I have seen several instances of coils failing following an overheat situation. When I see this, I always suggest replacement of all 8, I've had a few times with replacing one or two, and needing to replace a few others a week or so later.
