So the cable adjustment is easy. It is possible the traveling mechanic did it wrong, but I still don’t understand why it needed adjustment in the first place if the slider was aligned correctly. The nub on the slider in the TCM needs to line up with the mechanical plunger that controls the gear selection. Then, when you install the valve body you need to make sure that the nub on the shifter fits in the other side of the plunger. If you are not positive that you did both of those things so that they look like the photo I put up then I would take the pan off again and look as it’s probably possible for it to get damaged if it is not.

The fact that it rolls in park is unrelated to the alignment of the shifter sensor and plunger. It is purely controlled by the cable adjustment, so if it’s rolling in park, and you’re sure the shifter inside the car is in park, then the cable adjustment is not correct or something is broken.

I get the frustration. I’m currently trying to get my 06 LR3 working after rebuilding the transmission with no change in the symptoms

Thanks Kenny

I'm gonna drain the transmission tonight once I get home and take the pan off and look at the plunger to make sure it's in the correct location, I'm starting to think thats the whole issue, hopefully I won't find any damage done. I'll take pics and post them tonight or tomorrow. Thanks for all your help and knowledge.

Thanks,
Miguel

Glad you found it. Hopefully no actual damage has occurred to the slider. Don't forget that you are going to need to re-adjust the shifter cable once you get it back together.

I did, unfortunately, once I got everything back together, I had an "E" error. I thought I got the electrical connection in all the way and I slid the locking plastic piece in place, put the pan back on, refilled it, went to turn it on...error
today I played with it, tried to push it in a bit further and gave it a crank, it turned on, recognized P...I might have to drop the band again and undo the plastic slider and try to push the electrical plug in further, I can't take the chance of hitting a bump and it get disconnected.

So I finally got everything together, drove it. Drove fine, no issues since yesterday, this morning, was driving to a dr appt, all of a sudden the brake warning light came on and the circle with exclamation point came on. Finish with my appt, didn't make it a block away before Limp mode kicked in, no clue why.

Not really, my 2006 LR3 was doing it, changed out original filter/pan and solenoids, truck was driving fine until yesterday, starting to wonder if maybe something got wet causing an issue. Went back to limp mode after getting a large E in the instrument panel.

try replacing the brake switch before going too deep into it. Latest issue sounds like it.
