Default 2006 lr3 tires

Hello all,

I'm new to this forum.
I'm looking to replace my tires that came with my LR3 HSE V8. I originally lived in Canada and would take the Goodyear Wrangler HP's the came with the Truck and put on Pirelli Scorpion Ice+Snow for the winter. But I now live in LA and no longer need to do that so my Goodyears need replacing. The size is 255/55R19 and would like to know if anyone in this forum could recommend a good set of rubber. I do still do trails and may hit snow as i head north to Canada so I'll need m+s 4 seasons.

Thank you in advance!!
Dean

Default Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza

I run Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza for my summer tyres here. They are not the best for winter so as you had, I also have Pirelli Ice and Snow.

The H/L is a nice pavement tyre; if you want something a bit more aggressive, Bridgestone may have an A/T that is XL rated and in the OEM size of 255 55 R19 but I think the H/L may be good enough for all the winter driving you may be doing. The H/L sure beats the HP in winter - the HP could be like driving on ball bearings at times.

I would suggest changing wheel size. Far more options going to 18 or 20 in rims. Also dropping to 18 can save a few bucks on the rubber. In the 20 in you should be able to find Goodyear Silent Armour in 275/60R20, that should fit without any lift. Dropping to 18in opens more doors.

Default Yes, 18" rims are more versatile.

My winter tyres are on the 18" ten spoke Land Rover OEM rims and yes there is a much better selection of tyres in 18".

In my case, this allowed me to purchased the narrower 235 65 R18 XL Pirelli Ice and Snow tyres for winter conditions here. Wide tyres are not so good when you get real winter conditions.

Re this thread, I think mint.sauce wanted to remain with his 19' rims.
