2006 Range Rover sport 4.4 slow to start
I have a 2006 RRS 4.4. 46,000 miles. It has started taking longer than usual to kick over. The battery is strong and it turns over fine but won’t fire up. I have tried turning the key and letting it sit at the on position before turning it to start. No real difference in the fire up.
Is is there a way to check if it is the fuel pump, fuel pressure or some other cause? Once it starts it runs great. After it does fire up, if I turn it off and then back on again within a few minutes two or three, it seems to fire up as it should.
A quick aside, with the RRS acting up, I have been driving our 2005 LR3 for the past week. I really do like the ride of the LR3. Smooth and stable. The RRS is a bit more taunt and you feel every bump in the road. The LR3 seems to absorb the bumps and ridges for a cloud-like ride.
Thsnks. The RRS hasn’t left me stranded. It always does start up but I don’t want to push my luck. Thanks. Phil

Do a look over your engine bay - and locate the fuel rails. See if you can locate a schrader valve. If you have one, you can go to HF and get a $20 fuel pressure test kit and easily do it. I have a 06' LR3 and just did a test last week - with NO schrader valve which really wasn't hard.
You find the rubber hose that feeds the fuel rail, intercept with the "T" fitting in the fuel pressure kit... reconnect using the supplied hose back into your fuel rail. Put her in the 2 position, and look for the pressure. Then start her up.
I couldn't find the right pressure for your vehicle - but guessing it's similar to mine - 75 PSI.
I tested because I was chasing lean codes that turned out to be NON fuel related...
This was the test - 60 second vid... but you can see in one quick shot how I intercepted the fuel rail.
