2007 LR3 Sunroof stuck open!!!
Hello all I have a 2007 LR3 and the sunroof is stuck open, i've checked the fuses, all good, done the 20-30 sec reset, didn't work, any other suggestions? I read somewhere that you can run wires from a 12v to the switch points and it will close but I can't find where I read it to try it lol I don't mind if I can't open the sunroof for now, just need it shut. So, any ideas on how to close it would be great. TY Chris (And yes I have it duck taped right now )

Ok as I am apparently LR LR3 sunroof certified after it’s lovely boo boo 3 weekends ago I can certainly help.
You can do two things to close it “if” the slides of the sunroof are not broken. You remove the rear AC control unit from the headliner & you will see the black sunroof ECU and motor itself. Option #1 remove brown plug (sunroof motor lead), and apply 12v to the blue & brown wires. You will have play with the polarity to get the motor running in the direction you need. Option #2 you can leave all of the electrical connected. On the sunroof motor itself is a white X plastic looking piece in the center of the shaft. If you press in on that you can then take a large flathead bit and with say a stubby ratchet manually close it. Then when you stop pressing on it the plastic brake if you wanna call it that will pop out and engage the shaft so it won’t move.
Both of those will work as long as the tracks aren’t jacked up. I have a perfect LR3 sunroof motor & ECU for sale in the for sale section.
I don’t have a pic of the plastic X you press on, but when I get home I can certainly post a pic.

Hey Best4x4, so i have some wire and i'm going to use the 12v method. I have a Q: Does the AC in the back seats just pop off, or are there screws holding it in place? And what I was going to do is use a spare car battery 12v to wire up to and do the job, will this work ok? Thanks for your support
PS. There are other issues lol The suspension fault light/warning keeps coming on but nothing seems to be wrong with the suspension? When I turn the ignition off it seems to reset, but when I drive the same warning light comes on after around 5-10 miles, do you know what that's about? Also lol I want to change out the sparks, there's a couple of good clips on youtube about doing the job, but on a scale of 1-10 --- 1 being easy, what would you consider the job as being in terms of difficulty? TY

This is the part of the motor you can see & the center plastic part will push in & make it to where you can then turn it by hand with a large flat blade tip in a ratchet.
AC Control will pull out from the bottom (held into place by clips).
12v is 12v I had a 12v 7AH deer feeder battery & used a 5ft wire lead.

Best4x4, thank you for this picture. I was able to follow your instructions and roll the sunroof to a closed state (to at least avoid water leaking).
One follow up question: when I press the sunroof open or close button, I hear the motor making a loud noise (but nothing moving), so I assume that the motor is good, but the sunroof is not moving. I removed the sunroof glass and inspected the rail, and to the extent I can tell, the rail is in good condition. Do you think replacing motor and ECU will address my problem? I don't know what to check next. Would appreciate any advice you might have.
