Sunroof works only after reseting
2007 LR3 48K Miles
Thanks to this forum I found that holding the sunroof close button for 30 seconds it will reset the sunroof. The process is also outlined in the owners manual. The problem I face is after I do the reset process the sunroof will open and close all day long until I turn the truck off and restart the truck. I have to go thru the whole reset process again.
What I see and hear when I start the car:
I push the sunroof open button and it moves so slightly, then a click, then nothing. I no longer hear any sounds or the motor, *dead silence*
I do the reset process, and it works again.
What I've reviewed:
When the sunroof is fully open I inspected the track, no cracks, no visible dirt, I only see grease on the moving parts.
Any suggestions?

Update
The Dealership found that the battery had two dead cells which cause a short in the sunroof computer module and damaged it. Since I just bought the car they will replace the module at no cost, but I have to cover the cost of the new battery. Since the battery was the culprit I made sure the dealership installed the new one just in case this issue may arise again.
I hope to receive my LR tomorrow and it will be fixed . . . *crossing fingers*
