Default ABS wheel speed sensor replacement

Guys. Dash board lit up like a Christmas tree. Did some research on here and it appeared it was a speed sensor. Had the codes read and voila: front left sensor gone.

I looked at the cubby manual and install looks very simple with the exception of the last step which is having to do with T4. I obviously don't have access to t4. Can I reset the codes by resetting the engine ECU ?

I've done this Once or twice to successfully to turn off a check engine light but not sure if t will turn off the abs light (and the five other warnings it threw, too).

I'm trying to avoid doing the repair myself if I'm going to have to take it to my mechanic anyway.

Thanks for your help!!! Car is lowered and I'm losing my patience driving in the lowered height.

an IID tool would clear the codes and reflash the ECU if necessary, but they're VIN-locked so you couldn't borrow one. Try weighing buying the tool vs having a mechanic do it. GAP tools are fantastic.

IID tool is VIN locked for "higher" functions, but can read and clear fault codes for any vehicle listed on their website. If you can find somebody in your area with one, they should be able to do it for you.

Just reaching out again to see if anyone knows if after replacing the abs wheel sensor, if resetting the ECU by connecting the positive and negative cables (no battery involvement) will, in fact reset the codes for the abs system as well.

I will get the part today. Whether to install myself or take to dealer is the question. It's not an expensive job; maybe $300... But it's a $30 part so much that context, I'd like to do it myself.

I can't speak from experience on this particular module, but I would bet that it does. Don't give in to the dealer on a job you can do without even taking the wheel off

Yes true should have clarified I believe the ECU flash feature is the vin-locked bit.
