Nice, looks great! I have used both the '22 and '23 ECUs and I have had fewer error rates with the '23 ECU. Congrats on the install! I have found it a useful option to have, particularly on longer drives.

I tried the collision alert today. No cruise active, just driving. It just gives three fast tones and the dash says "driver intervene". I guess it can be a nice thing to have. Would be cool if it would brake the truck. By default its always off and has to be turned on. Not sure if that is normal behavior or if it should be the other way.

As for the adaptive cruise, really impressed. I found on B roads (one lane each way) its best to reduce the gap if there are curves as it can not track the vehicle in front if you are too far back. On major highway I think setting the gap to maximum is best. The braking is more aggressive then expected at times, it really does vary quite a bit based on the flow of traffic - which I think is great. I am not sure just how hard it can brake though and if it cant brake hard enough I wonder if it alerts the driver? As in the same alert above, driver intervene? It is pretty weird taking a country cruise and passing through a small town with reduced speed as you follow other vehicles and not once having to brake or adjust the cruise.

Is the collision alert enabled from the “extra” button on the top bar of the center console?

Yes it is. Some say it is optional, but I think there was a case where someone said the module would not work without it - it would fault out. I picked up a switch set for mine that had it and I also now have a dash switch for TPMS - which is useless.

And another update. Playing with the GAP tool, I now have a way to calibrate the radar and it all shows up in ECU infos. It was an easy fix... Just had to re-scan ECUs. This is something one is suppose to do when they first use the GAP tool. It basically searches the vehicle for all the ECUs you have installed and builds a list. It will not update that list until you scan again. I dont recall this being mentioned on the Disco3UK site - maybe it was - but I do not recall. I am not going to calibrate unless I have an issue as it seems to be working great right now.

Thanks, I'll rescan and see what pops up. I would love for there to be a way to have the alert 'on' by default. And I have had the alert come on when using the adaptive cruise, so for me it has supplemented the active braking with the 'driver intervene'.

Honestly in regular driving the alert may get annoying. But I found no way in the menus or on GAP to set it on by default. Unless I missed it in GAP. I want to see just how aggressive the adaptive cruse braking can get sometime. I almost came to a full stop today at a round about without pressing the brake pedal.

Another post... just more insight. So on the collision alert I am noticing just how "smart" the system is. It is nothing like the parking aid the alert you on how close you are to something. It really does read everything in front of you and use some logic to decide if there is a potential collision. Meaning if you have the gap set to max and come up to someone fast, it will go off - lets say at max gap that is about 40 feet. But let say with the same setting you are driving close to someone, just 15 feet behind them. It does not go off because you are matching their speed. If they suddenly slow, it will. Basically it seems to measure what is in front and react to changes in distance instead of always alerting you to actual measured distance. Pretty smart that way.
