Default Adjust Headlights for UK Import?

My 2008 LR3 is going 'home' in a few weeks (I have a job transfer to England). In order to pass their national auto inspection (MOT) the headlights need to be aimed toward the left ditch vs. right, as not to blind oncoming drivers.

Is there a way to switch or adjust the lights or am I looking a replacing the units? Thanks.

Dave

Replacement, sadly. The DOT beam pattern is vastly different from ECE, let alone RHD ECE.

Default What headlights do you have?

I note the remark about USA/DOT headlight patterns being different than EU patterns, and then of course the LH/RH side of the road driving.

That I would say would be true for the conventional tungsten filament lamps but not for the HID Xenon projector lamps.

The projector lamps have a lever within that changes the beam pattern from that which is required to drive in the UK to that which is required to drive on the Continent - ie, in the EU such as France, Germany, Italy etc.

The lever works both ways so a French D3 with the steering wheel on the USA side can take the car ferry and drive in the UK without blinding other UK drivers.

Note that the lever does not change the side the steering wheel is on.

This is a link re where the lever is.

The 7 page pdf link below has pictures but is for the D4 but it is similar for the D3.

Thanks! --will give it a try. I still have to drive on the right for 10 more days, though, so I'll have to wait until next weekend.
