Well how much did you pay for the Airtex? It is known they make a cheap version and the other. I would call AB tho, if it was the more expensive OEM version maybe they will do something. I myself still have my cheap AC Delco pump which like you I replaced as part of overhauling stuff although I did find it had started to leak, barely. But like you, I only have 24,000 miles on mine so far. I also have two more pumps on hand as backups, one being AC Delco and the other a Gates. I bring one on long trips.

Hi thank you Dakota.
I bought the OEM one $119 it was back then at Atlantic British. They didn't have a better one.The one with the brass propeler made in Spain was no longer made. The mechanic ordered one from a brand that makes good stuff (Gates) but mechanic says it looks like made about the same as what he is taking out.
Doesn't anyone make one in the USA or Europe for this car ?

Just replaced mine with the AC Delco because others seem to have good experience with it. It's the one-piece design as opposed to the OE 2-piece type. Not sure that makes a difference. It looks to be a solid, well-made part.

I think "OEM" can be a red herring a lot of times. Manufacturers can change a lot of things. They can change the design, the materials, the country of origin. But if they made the original one 20 years ago, the all-new and totally different replacement is labeled "OEM." You still need to do the due diligence, unfortunately.

Doesn't anyone make a good non China one for this car ? The one we just had put in I think is by Gates..I'm guessing it's going to be about the same as what came out.
Edelbrock maybe..?

What a piece of junk. The original lasted 206,000 miles and I changed it not because of failure but pre emptively. Atlantic British better find a better product out there cause some of us buy 80% of our stuff from them relying on getting good stuff.
Mechanic said he is going to get us a better one than this " OEM" one. I read that the original was Airtex but made in Spain with a brass propeler but no longer available. Anyway I need this damn car and this rubbish started on Christmas Eve mechanic thinking leak coming from hose connections..now it's back with the real cause and still no car when I need it.
The Airtex OEM Waterpump 4575902OEMA we sell is not made it China. It is made in Spain.

Also, we do mod what's included in the Airtex box and replace the Airtex supplied gasket with the Land Rover Genuine gasket. The genuine gasket is definitely better.

Also, for alternative quality options, we have since brought in a full line of Waterpumps by ProFlow, as well. ProFlow waterpumps are designed, manufactured, and tested in Wales UK and they were OEM on a number Rover models as well.

Thanks I read on here somewhere that a guy spoke to a person at the company that makes Airtex that the better Water Pump had a brass impeller but that that model was discontinued due to rise in costs and didn't sell as much because of it and the less costly Water Pump remained..
Who was the original OEM manufacturer?
I usually only look as far as Atlantic British and pick the better part. But I've seen at one place for $269 a Water Pump with Land Rover stickers that say made in UK.
Anyway hopefully the one mechanic put in lasts cause that coolant leak thing in 13 years has killed two of our cats from drinking.Which was a nightmare

ProFlow was OEM genuine manufacturer on 4575902 Waterpump at one point and then Rover switched it to Airtex I believe.

I am not sure if there was an older Airtex design for 4575902 that had a brass impeller (and a later one without brass at a later date.) That was definitely the case on the STC4378 Airtex OEM Waterpump for earlier Rovers D1/D2, Defender, RR P38 though (the older Airtex OEM version had a brass impeller then they changed the design.)

That said, we did bring in the ProFlow line of waterpumps to add more quality options for customers. Their offerings are UK-made and OE quality.

Hi..is the Pro Flow better than the Airtex.?
The Water Pump the mechanic put in (turned out to be Airtex again) when the Airtex I got from Atlantic British failed after two years seems to be leaking from gasket in less than a year.If this on the way out Id like to know if the UK ProFlow is superior.zthank you
