Default Air to coil suspension conversion (Ford)
I have an 2005 LR3 and my air struts are going out on me. I want to convert to coil springs and a buddy of mine told me I can get a 2005 Ford Expedition conversion kit and it will also fit, disregarding the computer module. Is this true, will it fit?

no idea, but unlikely since they don't really have any common structure. Not to mention the huge weight difference between the two.

I wouldn't attempt that. There are conversion kits out there, and I don't suggest those either if you off-road your Rover, but that not withstanding I don't have any confidence that there is some common-parts-with-Ford version out there.

I off road mine on the LR3 conversion kit, works fine. I wouldn't mind another inch or two though in lift though.

Sure it's still plenty capable....I just like the EAS, off-road.

I like the eas more for the capability when towing and on road manners.

It is great off road as well, but there is comfort in coil springs.

Is the comfort you mention ride quality or assurance that you won’t have an EAS failure?

Assurance of no EAS failure. I admit the ride quality is better in the EAS system, however the coils are really good as well.

This no longer scares me lol

I’ve heard the converted claim the ride is as good if not better. I view that as the D2 owner with a 4.0 saying that they have just as much power as a 4.6.

No EAS is better but the coils are good.
